Living the Resurrected Life
"Since then you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God."
— Colossians 3:1
There comes a time when people stop calling you what they used to—when your identity is no longer tied to what you’ve been through, but to what you’ve been raised into.
That’s what happened to Joseph.
He was the forgotten son, the falsely accused, the prisoner, the dreamer they dismissed. But then Pharaoh gave him a new name. A robe. A ring. A chariot. A task. A wife. And with all of that came something we often overlook: glory.
Not the kind that makes headlines—but the kind Paul described when he wrote:
“Those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; and those He justified, He also glorified.”
— Romans 8:30
In Christ, you weren’t just forgiven—you were glorified. That’s not some future concept reserved for heaven. You’ve been raised with Christ now. And just like Joseph, there’s evidence that follows resurrection.
✨ Joseph: A Picture of Resurrection Purpose
Joseph’s rise in Egypt is more than just a feel-good comeback. It’s a blueprint. A shadow of Christ. And a mirror for us.
When he was raised out of the dungeon, Joseph didn’t just get cleaned up—he was commissioned:
A new robe – covering and honor
A ring – authority and access
A chariot – movement and visibility
A wife – covenant and fruitfulness
A task – "to preserve life" (Genesis 45:5)
Each one of these things is something we receive spiritually in Christ.
🕊️ The Life You’ve Been Raised Into
The mistake many of us make is living like the gospel stopped at the cross. But the cross was just the beginning.
If the command in Genesis was "Be fruitful...", and we ever wondered what that looks like, God might say, “Look at the trees. Look at the herbs. Look at creation.” It testifies of its Creator.
And now, if we ever wonder what it looks like to be raised with Christ—God may just point us to Joseph.
“Look at the robe. Look at the ring. Look at the calling.”
Joseph didn’t go back to prison. He didn’t keep replaying the betrayal. He didn't hide in the palace either. He ruled. He provided. He reconciled. He restored.
That’s what resurrection looks like.
🔥 You Were Raised to Reign
We weren’t raised just to survive until heaven—we were raised to walk in purpose now.
You may have felt like Joseph in the pit or the prison. But resurrection is here. And when it comes, the name they used to call you—failure, forgotten, too far gone—falls away.
You’re not just Joseph anymore.
👑 Your New Name, Your New Walk
“To the one who overcomes... I will give a white stone with a new name written on it…” — Revelation 2:17
There’s a name you’re called in heaven that hasn’t reached earth yet. But you’re starting to walk in it. Every act of obedience, every prayer you didn’t give up on, every hidden “yes” is announcing it.
They used to call you Joseph. But now…
You’re ruling. You’re feeding nations. You’re walking in power, purpose, and peace.
You’ve been raised in Christ.
🙏 Reflection
What signs of "resurrection life" are already evident in your walk?
Where are you still living like a prisoner when you’ve been raised to rule?
What new name is God whispering over you in this season?
You weren’t just forgiven—you were raised to reign.
